Renewable and Sustainable Life Source

As I woke this morning, for some reason I was pondering how accessible we expect our electrical energy sources to be.  We have numerous items on charge, from cars to computers, all at the touch of a button.

It’s awesome to think that the sun, which rises predictably every morning, can be used as the source for our need.  The wind too, slightly less predictably as it blows where it wills, but nevertheless still blows and can be an amazing source of electrical power.  Energy is received and released, harnessed and deployed.  We want our electrical power source to be a continuously pulsing never ending supply.  And these days, we want it to be renewable and sustainable too.  We demand from the cosmos its power and the cosmos demands that we respectfully respect its limits.

But life is more than just our electrical needs.  Our life requires renewable and sustainable energy, too.  Not just for our bodies, but our whole selves, spiritual, emotional, and physical.  Where do you find your life source, I wonder.  For me, I find my source in something, someone eternal, who existed before the cosmos and was involved in its creation.

Jesus is my eternal source of life, pure and never ending.  Faith in him brings renewed life that is sustained for eternity.  His Word, his Truth, his Life endure and are certain from morning to morning.  His Spirit blows into every aspect of our lives, bringing power and energy to enliven and direct (guide) us in God’s perfect way.  To be energised in this way, we must turn towards the Source.  We must lift our heads towards the Son, Jesus, and fix our gaze on him.  We must catch the wind of the Spirit, allowing him to guide and direct our lives as we flow with his energy.

Only with the Son and the Spirit can we know the sustainable and renewing life that the Father created for us.  So why not look up and ask the Son to open your eyes and your heart to his enlivening power.
